CWMD Fellows come from a surprisingly large array of backgrounds:
- Some are currently in the Uniformed Services; others are former Service members, Service retirees, or without uniformed service altogether.
- Some enter the program with a bachelor’s degree; others already possess advanced degrees: either master, doctorate, or professional degrees.
- Some come from liberal arts and social science backgrounds; others possess technical or scientific degrees.
- Some have many years of service in the Federal Government; others are relatively new to public service.
In all cases, however, their backgrounds, aptitudes, and aspirations for service, as reflected in individual applications and supervisory recommendations, have identified them as persons for whom their advanced study of weapons of mass destruction is in the security interests of the United States.
