The National Defense University, Institute for National Strategic Studies’ Center for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) invites you to join us on 20-21 June 2024 for our Annual WMD Symposium "Lenses and Mirrors: Reflecting on Thirty Years of the WMD Spectrum."

This year’s symposium marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Center's founding in 1994 and will focus on reflections—upon us and our past—and refractions as WMD technologies and the democratization of information broaden the spectrum of challenges we face today and in the coming years.

The registration fee of $100.00 is payable at the time of registration. All payments must be made online through this website. If you have any payment questions, please email WMDCenter_Symposium@ndu.edu. The registration fee covers the costs of catering and other administrative expenses.

             

 

There are only 260 tickets available to this year’s in -person symposium, so register early!

Symposium Fee

The symposium fee must be paid at the time of registration. All payments (VISA, Mastercard, American Express) must be made online through EventBrite.

Through 14 June 2024, a registration fee of $100.00 will apply. The fee covers the costs of catering and other administrative expenses. 

Registration may be cancelled without penalty on or before 11 June 2024. After that date, refunds will not be issued. Refunds will not include EventBrite registration fees.  We regret no fee reduction can be made if you are unable to attend all the events at the symposium.

Symposium Discussion Policy

The National Defense University maintains a strict policy of non-attribution. Without the expressed permission of the speakers, nothing will be attributed directly or indirectly in the presence of anyone who was not authorized to attend the conference. 

Symposium Attire

Business attire for civilians and Service equivalent uniform (Class B) for military.

Badging

The conference facility opens at 7:15 a.m. All attendees and participants are required to present photo identification and sign in at the registration desk to obtain a badge. Attendees must always wear the badge visibly while at National Defense University.

This year’s symposium will be conducted at the unclassified level, under Chatham House Rules. Registered participants will receive the final agenda and read-ahead materials 2-3 days prior to the event.
