Ling Yung is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Dr. Yung currently serves as the Center’s professional military education coordinator. From 2011-2015, Dr. Yung served in a variety of assignments at the National War College including military professor of strategic studies, core course director, and director of the college’s executive assessment and development program. Prior to his professional military education duties, Col Yung served as the Deputy Director for Space and Missile Analysis at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.
A career space and missile operations officer, Col Yung has held numerous leadership positions in space and missile operations including commanding a Space Operations Squadron and an Air Force installation. He has also served at The Pentagon, on the Joint Staff, and at the Headquarters of U.S. Space Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command, Pacific Air Forces, and the Air Force Electronic Systems Center.
Dr. Yung is a graduate of The George Washington University and holds three advanced degrees from USAF and USMC military colleges and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University.
