The NDU Africa Center for Strategic Studies conducted a Catalyzing African Defender Communities Workshop in Lagos, Nigeria from September 24-27. The workshop brought together 36 journalists, media literacy experts, and fact checkers from Nigeria to deepen counter-disinformation capacity through enhanced technical skills and a collaborative community of researchers. Sarah Gamberini from NDU’s INSS Center for the Study of WMD conducted a panel at the workshop in Lagos on Information Resilience and Chemical Weapons, providing context about WMD disinformation themes to help fact checkers recognize them, and respond with information resilience. The workshop was a successful collaboration between the Africa Center and the WMD Center.
